nurturing musicians one note at a time

AAMP was born in 2011 to honor the memory and the legacy of gifted musician, artist, producer and community builder, Alex "Boogie" Assoian.

our vision

We recognize the importance of music and the long-lasting, positive impact it can have on a person’s life. That’s why we seek to make the gift of music by providing funding and resources to musicians and music education programs. Our grants support young musicians who show both a passion and a natural talent for music.

give the gift of music to young artists...

our mission

AAMP locates, nurtures and develops young musicians by providing them with financial assistance to further their musical education. Our goal is to build a music sanctuary and community where young artists can acquire the skills they need and where they can explore, compose and perform music in an unlimited variety of styles.

music either has soul or it doesn't

Never wanting anyone to get pigeonholed into a particular type of music, Alex loved to create a fusion of sounds and styles. Whether mixing hip-hop with folk music, or adding African drums into punk and pop, Alex blended such styles into what he called "genre-less" music.

what we do

We strive to improve musicianship through grants for private instruction in instrument, voice and music theory. We provide young artists with an opportunity to hone their craft in an environment of a supportive and professional music studio while fostering collaboration with their other musicians.
